Spring finds from Amazon!

As many of you might know, I am currently on a spending ban. Which has been ROUGHHHH let me tell you, but I have been doing surprisingly well for someone who is a blogger and an avid shopper. (No easy task. Lol)  With a lot of remodeling needed on our home and planning a wedding and a honey moon, I need to save as much as I can for more “adult purchases”…gross.  So I have been turning to more thrifty ways to find the latest trends for spring and summer.

Who would have ever imagined that Amazon would be a go to place to find those fashion trends? If someone would have told me five years ago that they bought their outfit from Amazon, I would have thought they were nuts. Well lately Amazon has been killing it in my option and has consistently been one of my recent place to go for cheap, reliable and fast fashion trends. Not to mention, the two day prime shipping and the fact that I can watch Downtown abbey anytime I want-SOLD!

Here are some of my latest favorite amazon finds. These items are a huge hit for the spring and summer and you cannot beat these deals. Especially for trend pieces that will not be long staples in your closets.

  1. Belt Bags
  2. Snakeskin
  3. Maxi Dress
  4. Translucent bags
  5. Neon
  6. Yellow
  7. Leopard print
  8. Chunky sneakers
  9. Biker shorts
  10. Big barrettes
  11. Hair scarves
  12. Top knot headbands

If you know of any amazing deals or trends you find on amazon or anywhere else, please let a girl know! I am always looking for the next great deal. 🙂

Festival of the Arts at Epcot

A few weekends ago(opening weekend), we ventured out to the festival of arts festival at Disney Epcot and it was just as promising as last year. The festival runs from the 18th of January to the 25th of February and if you love, art, music, consider yourself a foodie or just a lover of all things Disney-it’s a must see!

Being that opening weekend was a three day holiday weekend for most, it was super packed. The festivals tend to be the most packed the first two weekends and the last, so if you are NOT a huge fan of crowds and lines, I would suggest staying clear of the festival at those times.

First thing first for us was to get our pass holder magnets and cookies! Figment, of course, being the star! I did not think the organization of the magnet and cookie distribution was the best plan. The magnets were located inside of the mouse gear store, while the cookies were in the taste track food line in front test track. When we went, there seemed to be some confusion on the distribution of the cookies and if they were “free” for passholders or not. After 25 minutes of waiting in a line of frustrated passholders, we received this!

We also opted to try the paint brush churros, which were beautiful to look at but not so beautiful tasting. They tasted as if they were three days old and the colored coating had little flavor other than pure sugar. Totally worth it for a photo op, but would not get them again on our return trip back to the festival.

And the lobster Mac and cheese cone. I am not a huge fan of seafood, but Chuck was somewhat disappointed at the first bite, but claims it gets better the deeper you go into the cone. lol This one was not a pretty on to photograph, but after waiting in the line we were searching for more reasons to justify the wait.

Some other food we tried out this time around was the Brie bread and oh em gee it was amazing! I am a huge fan of cheese and bread ( I mean, who isn’t), so when I saw this in France I knew I had to try it. in my opinion, the ratio of cheese to bread was spot on. Also, the food presentation is France is perfect, it was almost too appealing to eat.

Frose -This little drink had a good amount of alcohol and was pretty to look at. I personally would not get it again due to the hefty price tag, but it was a fun way to cool off and cleanse the palette in-between foods. This little chilly baby can be found in France.

Sushi donut- This was by far the longest line we had to wait in for our food, but oh was it so worth it. The presentation and thoughtfulness that went behind creating this dish is incredible. The made some sort of gelatin soy sauce and it was so yummy and texturally satisfying. I would defiantly recommend trying this item if you are able to make it out to this festival.

Boba tea- At this point I was starting to hit the food wall. This was a quick trip for us, so we could only cram so much food in. One of the many reasons being a passholder is handy, giving us the ability to come and go as much as we like during the length of the festival. This tea can be found in china. The cup is too cute and the boba tea is good as expected and a must try if you are a fan, but be careful as the milky quality of the tea will make you feel full quickly.

They do offer a drawing class starting at 3:30pm. We unfortunately did not have time to partake in this trip, but are definitely planning on coming back to release our artistic beings. 😉

The art festival is definitely a must see if you haven’t experienced it before. Be on the lookout for part two of our Festival of the arts experience. If you do go, please tag me in your photos/ blog. I’d love to see your experience and take on the event!

See Ya 2018!

2018 is coming to a close-its surreal how quickly it came and went. I know there are a lot of negative things going around on how people are glad this year is coming to a close, but honestly 2018 was pretty great for me. This was by far one of my more stressful years ive had. We bought a house, got engaged, we moved to a new city and I started a new job that is a whole new world-did I mention my mother is my boss too? oh, and my neighbor-like across the street neighbor. haha

Despite all the emotional, mentally draining and financially painful moments we’ve had in 2018, it was still a year that I will always treasure and am super grateful for. Having our own house is still so surreal! I love decorating, rearranging, buying way to many chairs and throw pillows. Yard work sucks-like for real. Especially in the heat, so you know for like 10 months out of the year. Finding holes, dead spaces, termite damage, plywood where floors should be and a billion different kinds of bugs has not been the best. Cleaning a two story giant that is over a 100 years old has been challenging, but knowing that it is mine is the best reward there is. I will have a whole other blog all about our home buying process and the things WE were not prepared for going into this journey. My gal pal Cindy wrote a blog on this topic too and I will link her post here if you are interested. 🙂

In the past and even a bit now, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was behind at life, I graduated a little later than others, Im not married yet, not super set on a career path. I was/am a constant critic of my life and what I am not doing quite right. I would criticize how I am not following an imaginary timeline that was created in my head. I do know that everyone is different and moves at their own place and that being behind isnt actually a thing unless we make it one, but it was and is so hard to remind myself of this. #alwaysabridesmaidneverabride #negativenancy

Fast forward to me this past year being engaged and I feel like everything is moving in hyperspeed. It is so crazy to believe that in just 10 months, I will be a married women. Officially going into planning mode now! 2018 brought me up to speed or at least thats how I feel. Almost married, a good job and a house we can call our own. There has been so much good thing year and I strongly hope that carries forward to the next year.
2018 was stressful at times, but such a great year. I hope 2018 was good to you as well. And I don’t know about you, but I am so looking forward to all that 2019 has in store for us! I hope all of you have a very Happy New Year. 2019 is going to be a great year, I can just feel it! 🙂

Winter Faux Fur & Plaid

This time of year is always my absolute favorite! The weather, the movies, the treats and spending time with all of my wonderful friends and family! It is so crazy to believe that this time next year I will be a newlywed. Time flies when you’re having fun! Hehe No matter how many times I’ve been told this growing up, I am never truly prepared.

This year has been a whirlwind of emotions. We moved away from Orlando, bought a house, I started a new career path under my mother and oh yeah- WE GOT ENGAGED. It is so satisfying and weird to think that by next Christmas, I will finally be a MRS. 🙂 So excited for all of the amazing things that await us in 2019!

This fur coat was a complete on a whim purchase and I love it! I was going for a holiday glam on a budget kind of vibe and I think I’m pulling it off. (; Give me all of the plaid patterns and faux fur for the holidays, ya feel me?

I’ve linked my look below, in case you want to make a few “on the whim” purchases too! I mean, those are really the best kind, am I right?  I hope you and your family have the happiest of holidays!

Gobble til you wobble Y’all- Thanksgiving outfit inspo

It is hard to believe that it is time for Thanksgiving already!! For me, the time around Thanksgiving has so much meaning. Not only is it a wonderful month full of blessings, giving thanks and shopping. It is also mine and my mothers birthday month! I was actually born on Thanksgiving 27 years ago, so Thanksgiving and I go way back! 😉  The holidays, I like to plan I’m outfits in advance. Well,  as advanced as I can.  This year has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding it yet super hectic year so far, so naturally, I ran behind on what to wear this year.

I was enjoyed to see were other people recommend, So I thought it would be fun to give some outfit recommendations of my own. I broke it down to two styles so whether you’re into comfort or into dressing up for the holidays, I hope you find these looks helpful or at least fun!

I linked some similar items to the ones I’m wearing down below if you’re interested. I hope you all have a very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

Smokin’ Pumpkins

Halloween is such a fun time of year. It is a time where creative minds can let their inner freak flag fly and try all kinds of new, fun and exciting things. A few years back, I used to love to play around with different makeup looks. More recently, I loved playing with fun and spooky looks that can be worn everyday. Now, I’m trying to get into more special effect sort of things.

This year I ended up running out of time, but I did get to dabble in something that I have been dying to try. This year, Chuck and I decided to mess around with smoke bombs in our pumpkins to make for some cool shots and these were the results. Look out down below for some of the tips/ suggestions I have for you if you are planning to try this. 🙂

We noticed that the bigger the openings for the carvings, the better the pictures looked in the beginning. The pumpkin with smaller carvings, looked better later due to the small amount of smoke that would come out. The smaller carvings did however, last longer per smoke bomb which gave for a better opportunity to get the photo position right before the “magic” happened.

Another tip I would give is to pick better pigmented smoke bombs, I got some from amazon and only the green color gave you that WOW effect. The other colors looked muted to me, although I have had them for quite some time now. Also, when placing the smoke bombs inside the pumpkin, it is handy to purposely carve a small hole in the bottom for the smoke bomb to sit in.

If you try this, please tag me in the photo. I would love to see how yours come out. 🙂
